1.1.609 (2016-09-26)

We're celebrating the release of macOS Sierra with our own update to Semantria for Mac! This update adds new support for analysis of structured content formats. Additionally, the ability to pass related meta-data and connect results to that meta-data enhances data visualization of the text analytics results.

Features

  • New input formats
    • In addition to selecting Excel workbooks and folders of text files to analyze, you can now submit CSV files for analysis as well as JSON files.
  • Meta-data passthrough
    • Designate columns in your input content that contain relevant meta-data. When the results of your text analysis is written to output file, the meta-data will be written with the results for easy inclusion in any data visualization of the results.

0.12.936 (2016-01-16)

Enhancements

  • In preparation for general release, we've made some user interface adjustments and improvements to processing. In other words, we tightened the bolts and polished the chrome.

0.12.586 (2015-12-17)

Bug fixes

  • A bug in the handling of preferences was preventing the application from starting. We fixed that because we prefer that people are able to use Semantria for Mac.

0.12.522 (2015-12-15)

New features

  • Want to process 20k tweets, but don't want to watch Semantria for Mac grind through them all? Kick off a job and then go back to your email, Word docs, etc. We've integrated job completion into the Mac OSX Notification Center. So when your content is all processed, you'll get a nice little message saying your job is complete, and clicking on the message will display Semantria for Mac.
  • Up until now, selecting to write results to an Excel file created a file called semantriaresults.xlsx. Which worked if you only had one set of content to process. That's a bit limiting, so now you can specify your own filename to use, or allow Semantria for Mac to auto-name with title of job.
  • If you do specify a custom name for your results, and happen to have a file by that name open, we'll warn you that having it open is going to cause a problem for us writing your results.
  • The job ID is provided in the log window for troubleshooting. Trust us, it's useful.
  • We added access to your Account Dashboard through the user actions menu shown in the main window of the app. Click your username to find this.
  • We added an Edit menu, because OSX apps should have Edit menus.
  • We did some work on the drag and drop action, so it's more clear what you're dragging and more clear that it got dropped onto the app. And it's more pretty.

Bug fixes

  • The output columns in the Queries results sheet were off by one, one too many column headers.
  • If you logged out of the app, and then logged back in, the user actions menu was shifted down by a couple of pixels. It's been shifted back up in this update.
  • When appending results to the original source file, we didn't show the extension for output (xlsx) in the list of jobs. Fixed to show xlsx to xlsx.
  • Fixed the menu so the option to Show Main Window is not displayed when you don't happen to be logged in.
  • If all documents in a job got rejected (say they all exceeded your character limit), the app would indicate status as "Writing". That's fixed now to show proper status.
  • When an optional ID column was selected for processing Excel documents and it was a number, the output ID was not written as a number. This has been fixed to be consistent with input type for the ID. Use text, use numbers, whatever your IDs happen to be.
  • Allowed the log window to scroll horizontally if needed to show all the info we want to show.

0.11.320 (2015-11-20)
