Semantria For Excel / Release notes

5.0.182 (2016-11-29)

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue in the installer related to the VSTO prerequisite.

5.0.174 (2016-11-15)

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue in the Uncategorized Results report
  • Closing a workbook that contains a saved Survey Report and then reopen it without closing and Excel requires reports to be regenerated. Reopening Excel and then reopening the previously saved workbook works as expected.
  • Summary report counts incorrect. These counts for elements such as entities and themes are including mentions and other sub-element items (such as entity themes) in the count, instead of just document count for the main element.
  • Incorrect legend in Volume by Sentiment chart
  • New analysis wizard dialog boxes are not appearing in the center of the window
  • Issues with filters on Standard Volume report
  • Close button in Semantria for Excel side panel was removing all reports except the Uncategorized report
  • Horizontal axis numbering on the Standard Volume report has a duplication when displaying by count

Known issues

  • Order of items on the Standard Volume report is always the pre-filtered order by volume
  • If column selected for metadata has no actual values, an error will occur during report generation. Please ensure that columns selected for metadata contain values.

5.0.160 (2016-11-02)

New features and changes

  • Connect structured and unstructured data: Semantria for Excel 4.x introduced the ability to pass along metadata (structured information) with the text being analyzed. Semantria for Excel 5 builds on this to utilize your structured data in visualizing and understanding your results instead of just passing it through.
  • Import data from Survey Monkey and SPSS: Bring in data from external sources to analyze in the familiar Excel environment. Semantria for Excel 5.0 gives you the option to analyze from online sources like SurveyMonkey as well as other local file formats like SPSS and Triple-S.
  • Interactive analytics charts: Sort and filter by various attributes from your structured data or surfaced by analysis of your unstructured content. Drill in for deep observations in your data.
  • Survey-specific net promoter columns: New visualizations to support our handling of survey data from SurveyMonkey and other new data sources. Connect promoters and detractors to insights from your unstructured data.
  • Support for multiple text fields per record: Multiple text fields can be specified during analysis, and the report generation process allows for specific text fields to be included in the report.

Known issues

  • If column selected for metadata has no actual values, an error will occur during report generation. Please ensure that columns selected for metadata contain values.
  • Closing a workbook that contains a saved Survey Report and then reopen it without closing and Excel requires reports to be regenerated. Reopening Excel and then reopening the previously saved workbook works as expected.
  • Order of items on the Standard Volume report is always the pre-filtered order by volume.
  • Horizontal axis numbering on the Standard Volume report has a duplication when displaying by count.

4.10.188 (2016-11-01)

Enhancements

  • Added a dropdown selection on the Detailed Report button to allow for selective report generation

Bug fixes

  • Microsoft Excel has a limit of 65530 hyperlinks in a single worksheet. When processing large datasets, this limit was halting the output of reports. We've introduced a check on the number of results, and do not hyperlink results if this limit will be exceeded.

4.10.179 (2016-09-29)

New features and changes

  • Simplified user interface: We've completely streamlined the Semantria for Excel ribbon to remove the button overload. Results output is now based on your configuration settings, removing cases in which you select an output feature which is actually not enabled in your configuration.
  • Expanded reporting: Previous versions of Semantria for Excel put all results from Detailed Analysis onto a single sheet. This format is very challenging to import into other BI tools such as Tableau, and also generates a great deal of redundant information in the results sheet. The Detailed report in Semantria for Excel 4.10 will create individual worksheets for each type of result (entities, themes, topics, etc.), with hyperlinks back to the original content.
  • Keywords in context: If Mentions are enabled for your account, the Detailed report will provide snippets of the content with sentiment phrases, entities, themes, and topic occurrences highlighted for quick reference.

Notes

  • We've removed Discovery Analysis and Query Co-Occurrence Report features. Discovery Analysis is still available to API users.
  • There is a known issue in the highlighting of Mentions when the content contains multi-byte characters. An update to Semantria for Excel will be released with resolution to that issue soon.
