Amidst growing demand for applying the power and consistency of computers to analysis and enhancing of text, established text analytics company Lexalytics today announced its new Lexascope Web Service. The service makes the company’s text analytics functionality and performance accessible to marketers, content management professionals, digital marketing and voice of the customer analysts, among others.
The Lexascope service “reads” the content and tells the user who is discussed, how they’re discussed, and the tone of the conversation. Users can use the freely provided open-source reference clients, Lexascope-AIR and Lexascope-Excel, to immediately process their own content through the system.
The Lexascope Web Service is an API offering that will augment brand/reputation management and voice of customer systems, providing sophisticated text analytics horsepower to companies looking to glean information and sentiment from Twitter, customer surveys, online articles, blogs, forums, and more. It works “right out of the box,” allowing anyone to easily and inexpensively integrate Lexalytics’ sentiment analysis, entity extraction, and thematic analysis directly into their own business intelligence applications.
The affordability of the service means that it can be used for “point” text analytics problems, like analyzing a medium-sized data store of content that isn’t growing at such rates as to justify significant expense or hassle. Alternately, the Lexascope Web Service can be used to enhance the value of individual pieces of content. By using the Lexascope Web Service to automatically extract metadata and tag the content you write, companies can enhance the findability of their content.
