In a recent post KDPaine dug right to the heart of the matter on the effects of Blogs and Social Media on Products and Brands. It’s a nice read and worth the time. The jist of it is that worrying about every negative mention about your company, brand or product in the blogosphere is

    1. isn’t even worth looking at

What those that are looking at Social Media’s effects should be worrying about isn’t the simple counts or negative mentions that appear, they should be trying to understand what the community at large is saying. It’s not about one post, its about messages that repeat throughout the community. Be careful when you’re looking at Social Media to make sure that your gaining insight, not just counts.
