Automatic Text Document Summarization Using Semantic-based Analysis

In this paper, researcher Chandra Shekhar Yadav from the School of Computer and Systems Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University uses Lexalytics, an InMoment company, to present a [simple_tooltip content=’a lexical chain is a sequence of related words in writing, spanning short (adjacent words or sentences) or long distances (entire text)’]lexical chain[/simple_tooltip] based method for automatic text document summarization. The study suggests that the Lexalytics-based algorithm outperformed their previous methodology, especially with sub-graph based centrality.

The researchers suggest that the lexical chain created using semantic and lexical relations gives priority to their new system and is “performing better many times” when compared to their previous model. Using technical approaches like this illustrate the value of lexical chaining and sophisticated algorithms for automatic text document summarization.
